Full time position with benefits and City paid PERS. Responsibilities to maintain and operate the water treatment plant and perform utility duties as assigned. Assist and performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, operation and repair of public works facilities. Maintains repairs and reads water meters; performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks with the water collection systems and the water distribution systems. Monitor and clean park and recreation facilities. Provides positive customer service to the residents and visitors of Gold Hill. Equivalent to high school education plus one year of specialized/technical training in water quality and a minimum of two years’ experience as an Operator; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties. Possession of a valid Oregon driver’s license; possession or ability to obtain a Water Treatment Level I and a Water distribution Level I certification within one year of hiring, and any other classification required by state or federal agencies to continue work in the position assigned. A Commercial Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of initial employment. Refer to position summary for additional information and requirements.

Full Time Position Available

The Position and Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled manual and equipment operational tasks in maintenance and repair of streets, parks, building, water and fleet maintenance. An employee occupying this position must be able to learn to work as a member of a crew on a variety of general tasks and projects as assigned. Must be self-motivated, proactive, and able to work alone with little direct supervision when required. This position is under the general supervision of the City Recorder and City Council.
